Institute for Regeneration and Repair

A world class research institute, the Institute for Regeneration and Repair is home to over 500 scientists and clinicians studying tissue regeneration and repair to advance human health.

Our researchers seek to understand the mechanisms controlling tissue regeneration (the restoration of normal tissue structure and function) and repair (adaptation of a tissue after injury without exact replacement of lost tissue).

This multi-disciplinary institute is ideally placed to exploit this understanding for the development of new treatments. Our clinicians and scientists study major diseases including cancer, heart and lung disease, liver failure, diabetes, and degenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's.

IRR is a new institute which incorporates the Centre for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) and Centre for Inflammation Research (CIR).
